Hommlet was once a small town outside of Avendale but was destroyed during the uprising of uncivilized races in the year 1104 I.B. The only building to remain standing was a small temple of Obad-Hai that stood in the middle of town. When a large group of creatures came storming into the town the elderly, shrewd cleric that manned the temple quickly pulled everybody he could within its walls where they would be safe. He then expended all of his energy to keep all these creatures from tearing the building down and killing those within. In the end his attempts were fruitful but it cost him his life. Many believed him to be a spiteful and angry man but when the time came to prove his worth he sacrificed himself without a second thought to save the entire town.
