In the year 712 I.B., the conflict in Fyr’s Shadow over who was the appropriate Atoka was boiling to a head. As the battle between the two people’s groups for Yukgnath and Joshua Sanguine came to an end, the followers of Yukgnath felt slighted. Several followers of Kord became frustrated and raided temples in different districts as fighting in the city continued.
In the process of one of this group’s raids in their own district, a chest was uncovered that had an item that looked like an artifact known as Kord’s Jagged Crown Ring. Upon the retrieval of this sacred item, the group, led by Yukgnath, took this as a sign that they must spread the message and strength of their God across the land. They quickly left the city near the end of the conflict in 716 I.B. and started walking the land bearing their prized treasure in front of them.
The group started with only a handful of followers that decided to leave the city, but as they walked along the main roads, their numbers started to grow, but they grew slowly. The group never reached more than 20 members from their travels as people started to drop out as frequently as they joined.
The group initially travelled through the northern land around the then Northern kingdom of Dominar searching for a lost holy spot known as Kord’s Landing but it was never discovered and the group’s leader at the time decided in the year 866 I.B. to focus their efforts on the South as they were starting to dwindle out.
The group traveled from the Southeast, gaining numbers from the Orc tribes in the dessert region as they went, but internal battling broke out several times because of Orcs that had joined from opposing clans. By the time the group had left the dessert they were again short on numbers. They continued to travel through the lands until they reached Elenore where their cause was met with general approval from the once barbaric tribes.
As the group started to move on again, there were complaints of weariness from travel. They crossed into the Islands of Kyaht and created a settlement in the year 1068 I.B. They built a temple where all the monks stayed near the coast and named it after their previous leader, Ghattas who had died slightly before reaching Elenore. The artifact was placed at the center of the temple where it rested until 1112 I.B. People from around the area came to make pilgrimage to view the item. Many started to stay and the settlement started to grow into a town. Their strength helped them to hold off the roving tribes of Rakshasa who eventually agreed to leave them alone if they would sell them their pipeweed which was hard to come by on the island.
Because of the recent disappearance of Kord’s Jagged Crown Ring, it is feared that the growth of the town will reverse causing the city to die off. Recently a half-elf named Rilouh and the son of one of Camorr’s greatest knights, Artin Hammerbeard have taken interest in bringing work and trade into the town to try and prevent it from becoming a ghost town.
