The city guard is meant to serve as trusted protection, though recently there are many that complain that they are behaving more as brutes than guards.

Gilbert Gilbert, local resident of the slums, was assisting Artin Hammerbeard, son to the well known Corporal Hammerbeard, in an
investigation when that trust in these new city guards was betrayed.

Details are still sketchy but evidence indicates multiple assailants. One eyewitness claims to have seen an elderly man jump from a rooftop onto the victim followed by a pair of guards joining the assault. Mr. Gilbert is survived by a sizable extended family and his mother, Tilbert Gilbert. When asked how Mrs. Gilbert is handling these dark times for their family, one cousin, Dilbert Gilbert, replied, “She’ll bear, she’ll bear.”
